The Omani Ministry of Education announced that it has finalized its visionary plans for developing the educational process in the Sultanate. These plans are based on the huge projects previously executed by Sakhr concerning the school managements systems which boast the most advanced technologies and systems in the world.
This announcement was made by Mr. Khalid Suliman Al-Siyabi, Manager, Information System Department, Omani Ministry of Education, who Sunday paid a visit to Sakhr’s offices at Dubai Internet City. Al-Siyabi indicated that the Omani Ministry of Education is collaborating with Sakhr in its visionary plans of developing the technology systems within the sultanate’s schools, and of managing the educational zones in general - particularly as Sakhr’s systems have consistently proved themselves both effective and efficient within the sultanate and neighboring countries.
This follows other major announcements made by the Omani Ministry of Education since the beginning of the current year which included inaugurating major projects for modernizing the ministry’s infrastructure and adopting modern communication systems for wireless access to the Internet.
It is notable that Sakhr Software Co., the leading Arabic software company, is an historical ally of the Omani Ministry of Education, and as such has executed several large strategic projects for the sultanate’s schools. The most recent project was the execution of Sakhr’s School Management System (SMS) at 500 schools throughout Oman, this included automating and developing school systems. Sakhr was also in charge of training a large segment of the ministry’s employees qualifying them to efficiently use Sakhr’s SMS.
“The Education Portal project involves electronically linking-up approximately 1200 schools. In addition to providing the SMS, the project aims to provide two other major services: e-learning and an Internet Portal System which will establish communication between our students, our teachers, the parents, zone administrations and everyone else involved in the educational process,” commented Al-Siyabi. He added, “Our joint vision with Sakhr also includes methods of setting-up the application infrastructure to support the sultanate’s e-government imitative.”
“Sakhr’s system is the ideal comprehensive solution for modern school management. It ensures great privacy, confidentiality and data protection. It also provides extensive storage capability, simple back-up creation, fast data retrieval, great speed and the ability to discover mistakes,” commented Mr. Moatasem Mohaisen, Technology Manager, Sakhr Software Co.
“Our comprehensive system is based on the electronic portal which operates as the interface for all branch systems, thus making it the entrance through which all users can access information, tasks and services. Through the portal, students can access and publish their daily homework, and communicate with teachers and fellow students. Teachers can publish lesson schedules, daily homework, update their information and working hours, and communicate with parents. The portal also allows parents to monitor the daily attendance of their children, and to obtain reports and information about their performance and programs. The school can monitor the information which has been provided by the school management through the portal, in addition to being able to communicate with parents, and post news and information about the school’s activities. The portal’s data interface will allow administrative employees to access the tools to design and generate reports and support the decision making process,” added Mohaisen.
“What makes Sakhr exceptional is the pioneering solutions it offers in the field of education, and the top-notch, fully integrated, user friendly programs it develops. Sakhr is the only company of its kind that specializes in natural Arabic language processing NLP,” added Mohaisen, commenting on the shared visionary plans with the Omani Ministry of Education.
It is worth mentioning that Sakhr’s in-depth experience in supporting the various educational systems executed in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait and Oman, and the collaboration with the Omani Ministry of Education goes back to the mid-nineties and falls under Sakhr’s continuing endeavors in supporting the solutions and applications of e-governments throughout the Arab World. Sakhr’s programs and solutions have won clients’ satisfaction ensuring that they continually turn to Sakhr for the latest issues of the programs they have grown accustomed to.
