The Supreme Committee for Town Planning in Oman held its first meeting of the year at the Finance Ministry Wednesday under the auspices of its chairmanship Ahmed bin Abdul-Nabi Macki, Oman's National Economy Minister.
Macki said that the meeting reviewed progress in preparing technical studies on comprehensive architectural plans to develop a number of areas and towns including Al Duqm in the Wusta region, the coastal areas extending from Daghmar in the wilayat of Qurayyat to Qalhat in the wilayat of Sur and the sea front at Al Haffah in Salalah city.
He added the committee also discussed a memo on classifying areas according to their land value and endorsed a recommendation submitted on the pricing of government land plots in villages.
