Passenger traffic at Oman's Seeb International Airport increased by 28.4% to 2,19 million passengers in the first 7 months of 2004 from 1,57 million a year ago, according to the Airport statistics.
The Airport received 901,100 incoming passengers during the period of the report, up by 29% from 698,400 passengers in the first 7 months of 2003, while outgoing passengers rose by 28% from 721,300 to 923,400 passengers.
The total of transit passengers surged to 194,300 up by 27.6% from 152,200 passengers in the first 7 months of 2003.
According to ONA, total freight export went up by 67,1% to 16,9 million kilograms (Kgs) compared to 10,1 million kgs in the first 7 months of last year and total freight import also increased by 33,5% to 22,3 million kgs in the first 7 months of 2004 compared with 16,7 million kgs a year ago.
