Oman's trade surplus jumped to an all-time high of OR 1.1 bn as of March-end 2006, for 1Q 06, as crude prices continued to rise, official sources said. Trade surplus climbed to OR 1.1 bn in Q1 2006 from OR 686.3 mn in Q1 2005, according to provisional figures released by the government.
Meanwhile, trade balance for the first quarter of 2006 reflects a record trade surplus. Total exports soared 35.3% to more than OMR 2.05 bn in Q1 2006.
