Omantel and the Belgian IT company Scanit have agreed to form an alliance to offer infrastructure and vulnerability assessment services to the Sultanate of Oman.
The new partnership results in a service offering of infrastructure and security solutions coupled with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment services designed to help organizations protect themselves from mounting internet security threats.
Headquartered in Muscat, government-owned OmanTel is the country’s sole provider of telephony, mobile and Internet services. Full Internet service became available in early in 1997. The network currently covers 80 percent of the population, with 98 percent of urban households owning a telephone line. — (menareport.com)
