New technology integrated into the official online Yellow Pages in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made the site the most advanced of its kind in the region, EIM, the Internet Business unit of Etisalat announced today.

In addition to the complete re-design of the bi-lingual site and more company information available, the Gulf region’s first online business mapping system has been integrated to pinpoint locations and provide accurate directions.

A brand search facility has also been added to refine the identification of businesses online. Furthermore, microsites and online internal directories now allow users to access extensive information on a specific company of their choice.

The upgrades to the site have been made in partnership with Al-Wahda Express, the official publishers of the UAE yellow pages, and Informap Production LLC online mapping company. Launched in July 2000, the Yellow Pages has over 60,000 listings categorized by nature of business under 2,500 classifications. The site also features travel details, exhibitions and events, and free zones and other useful information.

Launched in March 2000, Emirates Internet and Multimedia (EIM) is the Internet service provider arm of Etisalat. Al-Whada Express L.L.C is the official publisher of Etisalat’s White and Yellow pages directories since 1986. Informap Production LLC is an international company in the digital maps field having its headquarters in Switzerland and its first office in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Dubai. — (menareport.com)
