A Pakistani trade delegation, consisting mainly of rice exporters, recently visited the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, according to Al-Hayat daily. Meeting with Saudi officials, the Pakistanis discussed ways to promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
The Pakistani representatives, who are experts in the field of rice production and exportation, expressed their willingness to supply Saudi Arabia with the rice products it requires.
Local market sources estimate rice consumption in Saudi Arabia to be nearly 800,000 tons per annum. This quantity is expected to increase to one million tons per annum by 2003 due to Saudi Arabia’s quickly growing population. ― (MENA Report)
