Pepsi Cola controls 70 percent of soft drinks market in Dubai

The marketing manager of the Dubai Soft Drinks Company, Hussam Al-Dowairy, stated that Pepsi Cola Company controls up to 70 percent of the carbonated beverage sales in the major hotels and trade centers in Dubai, reported Al-Bayan newspaper.  


Al-Dowairy added that his company has more than 400 exclusive contracts for the marketing of Pepsi products in local hotels, restaurants, cinemas and leisure centers. Al-Dowairy revealed that he expects the carbonated drink sales in the UAE to increase by 10 percent this year, and that his company currently accounts for 50 percent of the carbonated drink sales in Dubai and the northern Emirates. This figure reaches 65 percent when Pepsi products are included.  


The report included information regarding a three-year contract recently signed between Pepsi Cola and the Wonderland Water Park City in Dubai. According to this agreement, Pepsi Cola will be the official beverage of this leisure city. The two parties agreed also to jointly organize music and amusement parties designed for families and especially children. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
