While female footballers may not be as well known as Ronaldo and Beckham, the 14+ yrs Emirates International B team, from Emirates International School, had their 15 minutes of fame when winning a Chevrolet Aveo after the Pepsi Power Ball grand draw.

The draw was held by Dubai Refreshments Company and Al Yousuf Motors as part of the Pepsi Sports Fiesta.

The winning team – who were deciding how to divide up the car straight after the draw – were: Amira Suboh, Amanda Sam, Grace Young, Elizabeth Blenap, Victoria Young and Donya Fares.  Pictured with them are May El Labban, Promotions & Event Manager for Dubai Refreshment Company, and Mohammad Ahmed Khan, the Marketing Manager of Al Yousuf Motors.

All Stars, in the 11 – 13 year-old boys category, won a Chevrolet Aveo in the draw for the Pepsi Slam Jam. The Pepsi Slam Jam basketball and Pepsi Power Ball football tournaments wrapped up last week.

El-Labban said: “Competition and talent run high in the local community, and the Pepsi Sport Fiesta is a terrific outlet for teams to play in professionally organised tournaments and display their skills on the fields.”

Meanwhile, Pepsi’s schools tournament, in both football and basketball, started on February 9 with 75 teams in the running for the championship title.  Run in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, matches will take place at the Global Village site until the prize day and draw for a Chevrolet Aveo on March 28.
