Pepsi has signed a marketing sponsorship agreement with the Orbit broadcasting network. The deal incorporates a globally integrated package where Orbit and Pepsi are aligned on communication and product objectives.
A key element of the deal is Pepsi’s sponsorship of the premier division of the Dutch league 2004-2005, broadcast on Al Riaydiah channel. Pepsi is also extending its exposure on Orbit’s 60-minute weekly program “Week in Dutch Football” - and on “Ghaly’s Adventure,” the regular bi-weekly 30-minute feature focus on sports celebrity Hossam Ghaly, the popular Egyptian football star who plays for leading Dutch football team Feyenoord.
The Orbit Satellite Television and Radio Network made its debut in 1994 as the world’s first fully-digital, multi-channel, multi-lingual, direct to home pay television service. Orbit, headquartered in Bahrain, has many offices across the Middle East and North Africa including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Tunisia and Egypt. The Orbit footprint covers the whole of the Middle East and North Africa all the way from Morocco to Iran. In addition, Orbit broadcasts a select bouquet of Arabic-language services in Europe and has plans to expand into North America and Australia soon.
