Documentum, a provider of enterprise content management (ECM) stated that Petrofac International in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has deployed Documentum ECM platform to manage engineering content for managing and installing pipelines in the Middle East.

The Documentum platform is at the foundation of a new system, which will enable Petrofac to cost effectively accelerate the creation, management, delivery and archival of large amounts of content, such as engineering drawings, plant designs and CAD files.

As with most process manufacturing companies, Petrofac was looking to enhance its processes for managing content at every stage of the manufacturing cycle and to share that content among departments, partners and suppliers. Using Documentum, Petrofac has an extensible, standards-based platform to help the company comprehensively manage all content types and achieve ongoing regulatory compliance.

Petrofac was founded in 1981 by a diverse group of specialist engineers to serve the expanding hydrocarbon processing industry worldwide. Petrofac's expertise in executing turnkey projects for the oil refining, oil production, gas treating and petrochemical industries ensures a design fit to meet customer specifications. — (menareport.com)
