The required investment in water and sewage projects for the upcoming four years is estimated at EP 16 billion. This EP 4 billion annual investment will cover 213 cities and regions throughout Egypt, al Ahram daily reports. According to Dr. Muhammad Ibraim Suleiman, the Egyptian Housing Minister, this ambitious plan would include 4,230 villages. He added that by implementing these projects, the potential potable drinking water consumption per capita would hit 300 liter per day.

Speaking to the daily, the Minister urged the private sector to participate in these ventures. He said the government positively views the utilization of the BOT method in order to diminish the burden from the state budget. The government is currently investigating the legal aspects of introducing this method in the water and sewage sector. (EP 3.4=$1).
