Port of Beirut sees 4.5 percent revenue drop in 1H 2002

The Port of Beirut recorded a 4.5 percent drop in revenues in the first half of 2002 reaching $69.6 million compared to figures recorded for the corresponding period in the previous year. Container activity decreased by 7.34 percent during the month of June, reported Blominvest

 

Traffic at the Beirut International Airport increased last month by 37.4 percent and aircraft activity rose by 17.4 percent compared to figures recorded in June. The airport received 173,862 passengers in July, a 4.6 percent increase in traffic compared to figures from June, reported Banque Audi

 

Custom duty revenues increased by 19 percent last month reaching 155 billion Lebanese pounds compared with LP 130 billion in earnings recorded in July 2001. Tariff levels were increased by 5.5 percent during the first seven months of the year. — (menareport.com)
