Portuguese cement group records highest turnover in Morocco for 1H 2002

Morocco imported 344,00 tons of cement from Portugal’s Cimentos De Portugal (CIMPOR) in the first half of 2002, generating the Group’s highest regional turnover. The company sold 8.1 million tons of cement during the first half of they year. 

 

The North African state’s cement purchase generated €9.9 million ($9.7 million) for the company, a 14.7 percent sales increase compared to figures from the first half of 2001. The Moroccan market contributes to approximately 5.4 percent of CIMPOR’s annual turnover, reaching €23.3 million. 

 

CIMPOR is Portugal’s largest cement group operating in Spain, Tunisia, Brazil, Mozambique, Egypt and Morocco. It operates one plant in Morocco with an annual capacity of 800,000 tons and holds an 8.8 percent share in the nation’s cement market. — (menareport.com)
