3M Middle East & Africa announces geographical expansion across Nigeria and Kenya

In line with its robust growth plans for the Middle East and Africa region, 3M a recognized leader in research and development has today announced its expansion plans across Nigeria and Kenya in the African continent.

As part of the recently announced geographical expansion, 3M will set up a subsidiary in Nigeria and Kenya while deploying expert front end human resources to manage key market segments and end users in the West and East African countries. The Kenya operations of 3M would also encompass neighboring countries which will include Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia.   

Commenting on 3M MEA’s expansion across Africa, Irfan Malik, Area Vice President 3M Middle East & Africa said, “3M expansion across new geographies in Africa is driven by our underlying strategy to enhance our penetration in emerging markets by increasing customer relevance with the aid of our proven global technology platforms and prioritizing focus on key industries that are expected to grow multi fold in the coming years”.

He further added, “The Middle East and Africa region is one of the fastest growing geographies for 3M globally and we are committed to not only infuse fresh investments across key countries, but also introduce tailor made innovations relevant for the specific needs of the industries operating in the region”.

3M’s expansion across Nigeria and Kenya would initially focus on leveraging key 3M business unit portfolios including healthcare, consumer and office business along with industrial and transportation, which will target the infrastructure, safety and oil & gas industries in Africa.

3M’s operations in Nigeria will be led by Gregory Peter who has been appointed as the General Manager for the country. Gregory is currently the business manager, 3M Oil and Gas for Sub-Saharan Africa.  The Kenya operations for 3M will be headed by Debasish Gupta who will now hold the position of General Manager, 3M Kenya. Debasish is currently the Business Development Manager, Architectural Markets and Commercial Graphics, 3M Middle East/Africa.
