3M Gulf announces participation at The Big 5 Jeddah 2012

3M Gulf, a recognized leader in research and development has announced its participation at the 2012 edition of The Big 5, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Key 3M Gulf business units including Industrial and Transportation (I&TB), Safety Security and Protection Services (SSPS), Electronics and Telecommunications (ECB), Occupational Health & Environmental Safety (OH&ES), Electricals and Display & Graphics (D&G) will be showcasing a host of innovative solutions for diverse industry sectors from March 10 -13, 2012 at the Jeddah Centre for Forum and Events.
Commenting on 3M Gulf’s participation at The Big 5 Jeddah 2012, Osama Hamoudeh, General Manager 3M Saudi Arabia said, “Saudi Arabia is a priority country for 3M in the Middle East. Our presence at this mega exhibition will further reinforce the aggressive growth plan that we have laid out for the region, which is in line with the investments that have been planned by the Government in multiple industries”.
He further added, “3M innovative solutions have already found several applications across key projects in Saudi Arabia and our key objective at this event is to further apprise the customers about our complete range of proven solutions, including some of the new products for their diverse requirements”.
The 3M exhibit at The Big 5 event in Jeddah will feature innovative products including Industrial Tapes & Adhesives, VHB Tapes, Extreme Sealing Tapes, Scotchweld Adhesives (Guiness World Record holder adhesive), Epoxy Adhesives and Aerosol Adhesives.
The 3M Scotch-Weld structured adhesives have been recognized as one of the most powerful adhesive amongst 3M’s incredible range of tapes and adhesives, with the toughened family having the highest overall strength, impact resistance and durability.
Besides these, I&TB unit will also be showcasing their abrasive range of products that would include Pneumatic Abrasive Tools, Fiber Discs and Cubitron II. Products focused on renewable energy projects like Window Films and Security Anti Shatter Films (Scotch Shield) will also be presented at the event.
With decades of experience in ceramic, abrasive and micro replication technologies, 3M has literally reinvented abrasives with 3M Cubitron II Products. Starting with a patented, precision-shaped ceramic abrasive grain, 3M engineers have found a way to electrostatically orient each triangular structure to maximize cutting potential.
As a resultant of this, each individual precision-shaped ceramic grain acts like a cutting tool, slicing through metal like a knife, and continuously self-sharpens as points break off. This allows 3M Cubitron II Belts and Discs to run cooler and keep on working, long after conventional abrasives have dulled, shelled, glazed over and been tossed out.
3M SS&PS business unit will also be showcasing strong presence at the exhibit as they will present disposable masks, cartridges, purifying systems, respirators, hearing protection, eye wear protection, disposable coveralls, quest technology, helmets, fire rated sealants, fire stop materials and commercial cleaning solutions.
The Electricals unit at 3M will be showcasing terminations, cable joints, resin and electrical tapes, while the Telecom business segment of 3M will be showcasing fiber and copper cables and network solutions at The Big 5 exhibition.
The Display and Graphics business unit at 3M will be presenting its commercial graphics product portfolio that will include printing films, while the AMD division will showcase their innovatve dinoc decorative films, fasara films, sandblasting films along with a display of reflective sheeting for traffic signs.

3M
More than a century ago, 3M started as a small-scale mining venture in Northern Minnesota, then named Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. Now a global powerhouse, our products improve the daily lives of people around the world.
But our success and longevity were not apparent from the start. We tried. We failed. We tried something new. Repeat cycle. Innovation and perseverance drove our founders, and it continues to drive 3Mers today.
