Abu Dhabi City Municipality Cracks Down on Casual Ads

Through Al Shahma Municipal Center, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM), in coordination with strategic partners Al Rahba Police Station and Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company (Tadweer), has carried out a campaign targeting advertising signs cluttering the public appearance and undermining the outlook the capital of security and safety, Abu Dhabi.

As part of these efforts, the municipal teams at Al Shahama, Al Rahba, Al Bahya, Al Samah and Al Ajban have removed 50 casual advertising signs marring the landscape of the city. Such signs are also in breach of Law No (2) for 2012 governing the Public Appearance, Health and Tranquility in Abu Dhabi Emirate along with its executive regulation.

This campaign has been launched in the context of the Municipality’s commitment to perpetuating the best values and practices governing the appearance of the city. It is also in line with efforts to rid the city of any sights incompatible with the objectives set for health, safety and convenience besides rendering the capital more beautiful.  

The Municipality stresses the importance of cooperation and coordination with strategic partners in public and private sectors. It commended their huge effort in supporting the Municipality’s efforts in eliminating all forms of eyesores and promoting a civilised and advanced appearance of the city. The Municipality will continue running such campaigns to control the negative practices in the city as well as awareness efforts to sensitise the public about the importance of compliance with the applicable rules and regulations in Abu Dhabi as regards maintaining the appearance of the city. The Municipality stresses the importance of continued cooperation to combat and eliminate all forms and types of disfiguring elements, especially those, which have a direct impact on the public view and the environment to ensure a healthy and safe life for all
