Abu Dhabi Ports-the master developer, operator and manager of ports and industrial zones in the Emirate-has won two prestigious awards of Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP) 2015.

The award for “the Financially Distinguished Entity” is a remarkable achievement for Abu Dhabi Ports as it is one of the most prestigious awards in the main category. The Distinguished Entity in Performance Improvement” shows that Abu Dhabi Ports has made a quantum leap from the “Beginner in Excellence” category to “Influenced by Excellence” category, bypassing a category in the middle titled “Implementer of excellence.”

The Award was instituted under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, handed the awards to Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, at the Award ceremony held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday evening.

“Our performance at Abu Dhabi Excellence Awards is a result of our constant hard work to maintain the professional excellence.  We all are inspired by the leadership’s vision to make the UAE among the best countries in the world by the Golden Jubilee of the Union in 2021,” said Captain Al Shamisi.

“These are our humble efforts towards achieving that vision. My heartfelt congratulations to all Abu Dhabi Ports employees who made this achievement possible with the teamwork,” he said.

The “Financially Distinguished Entity” award reflects the efficiency of Abu Dhabi Ports’ financial management system and proves its best practices in financial planning, budget planning, revenue growth, cost reduction and assets management. The award for the “Distinguished Entity in Performance Improvement” echoes Abu Dhabi Ports’ commitment towards applying the excellence standards to achieve the highest performance, which has been effectively displayed during the past two years.

Abu Dhabi Ports’ two projects were shortlisted in the project category. Two staff members also reached the top three positions among the shortlisted candidates for individual awards this year.

The company had won the award for the Outstanding Strategic Transformational Project in the last cycle.
