Abu Dhabi University showcases 31 undergraduate and postgraduate programs during Najah 2015

Embarking on its second year in a second decade of excellence, Abu Dhabi University announced yesterday (Tuesday 27th of October) during its annual participation in NAJAH Education, Training and Careers Exhibition 2015, the launch of several new academic and scientific initiatives that are set to be implemented during the 2015 -2016 academic year.  Along with showcasing its diverse portfolio of 31 undergraduate and postgraduate programs, ADU also announced the launch of “Centre of Excellence in Smart, Sustainable and Entrepreneurial Cities” which will aid in increasing the University’s research output. Furthermore, NAJAH 2015 also witnessed the launch of the: Master of Private Law (in Arabic), Master of Public Law (in Arabic), Master of Business Administration in Aviation Management, Master of Science in Sustainable Architecture, and the Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University Dr. Nabil Ibrahim stressed the University’s keenness in participating in “NAJAH” as it allows us to explore new opportunities of collaboration with other higher education institutions and different business sectors throughout the UAE. “The annual exhibition also serves as a platform of communication, which gives our faculty a unique opportunity to meet with prospective students and their parents. Furthermore we get to introduce visitors of the exhibition to our programs that have been designed and launched after comprehensive and extensive studies of the labor market and its growing needs of national professional cadres to serve various growing sectors”, explained Dr. Ibrahim.

On his part, Dr. Jacob Chacko Dean of Abu Dhabi University’s College of Business Administration, pointed out that in addition to 6 different concentrations of the Bachelor of Business Administration and its MBA programs in Finance, Project Management, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, and Human Resources; the College also launched a new unique program. “Our new CAA and AACSB accredited MBA in Aviation Management is offered in strategic collaboration with “Etihad Airways”, and preps graduates with the managerial skills of an MBA as well as ensure they gain the highly coveted skills they need to excel in airline and airport operations, aviation regulations, safety, and quality management systems as well as aircraft fleet strategy. We are also launching the “International Conference on Organization and Management” which is set to host around 150 researchers and professors representing universities from across the globe to discuss innovative management practices.”

Dean of ADU’s College of Engineering, Dr. Aly Nazmy that the College enhanced its cadre of highly qualified faculty with 11 members recruited from renowned universities and has now reached 55 full-time faculty members. “We have also launched and have started accepting application for the Master of Science in Sustainable Architecture, and the Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the Master of Science in Information Technology. Furthermore, with three of our undergraduate programs accredited from the world-renowned Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, we are also actively seeking accreditation for the rest of our engineering programs from several specialized global accreditation bodies, so that these programs are ready for accreditation immediately after the graduation of their first batch of students,” added Dr. Nazmy

“ADU’s University College is focused this year on offering extensive academic support to new and returning students through the Learning Support Center and the Writing Center. Students who have difficulties maintaining a high GPA can benefit from tutoring sessions, writing workshops as well as many other services”, said Dr. Dr. Sreethi Nair Dean of ADU’s University College.
