HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh hailed the performance of Jordanian soprano Zeina Barhoum in the opera “Barber of Seville” by Gioachino Rossini, a co-production with the Bologna Opera House as "extraordinary" and "majestic."

The Barber of Seville performance was part of the Amman Opera Festival (AOF), held under the patronage of HRH Princess Muna and was founded by Barhoum in July 2017 and featured “La Traviata” in 2017 and, “La Boheme” in 2018.

"Barhoum is a great talent and an asset to the Jordanian music scene; her performance as Rosina, the opera’s leading role in the “Barber of Seville” by Gioachino Rossini shows that her talent is extraordinary and this is what we need," Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh who is a passionate music supporter said.

"We need more talents like Barhoum to enrich music in Jordan and take it to the global level and as we have seen in many occasions, we have what is needed and we should all work on it," he added.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global's popular radio station Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business and Culture (TAGBC) played a role in promoting the event as a media partner and supporter upon the directives of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh who is a musicophile and has been involved in music for decades and visitors of the world famous Opera House “Palais Garnier” in Paris can read the name of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh on one of the main Chandelier post at the “Rampe de l’Empereur” at its entrance in appreciation for his support and dedication to promoting music worldwide.

The opera “Barber of Seville” was performed with the full Opera House of Bologna cast with Yuma Shimizu as Figaro, and Fabrizio Daluiso as Il Conte and accompanied by the Bologna Opera House Orchestra featuring musicians from the National Music Conservatory Orchestra in Jordan and the Rimini Opera House Choir led by conductor Massimo Taddia.

A costumes workshop through the Amman Opera Festival educational programme “An Eye on Music in Education”, which supports “promising talent” in partnership with SOS Children was held on the sidelines of the opera.
