Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum Launches ‘Toward Digital Jordan’ Committee

HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), launched ‘Toward Digital Jordan’ Committee, one of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF) committees.

The Committee which includes a host of experts in information and communication technology aims at finding the appropriate means for transforming the Jordanian community into a knowledge-based society in addition to boosting economy and developing services offered to citizens.

,While chairing the founding meeting of the Committee, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of the Committee’s work in finding technical solutions for problems that face the society calling for promoting the concept of Digital Society, pointing out that the main tracks of the digital society include e-government, digital learning, digital infrastructure and digital economy.

Additionally, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh affirmed that the development of the education process at schools contributes to disseminating knowledge in society in addition to technological and digital methods usage, pointing out that some of the most important aspects for transforming into a knowledge-based society are mainly solving the economic problems, minimizing and reducing budget deficit and national debt.

Meanwhile, members of the Committee emphasized the dire need for preparing an action plan to assist in achieving the Committee’s goals by finding the appropriate measures, strategies, proposals, programs and laws to help transform into a knowledge society in collaboration with TAG-KF, a think tank center specialized in economic policies submitted to decision-makers.

The Committee members noted that creating radical solutions for problems that face production and services sectors in the society relating to traffic congestion, agriculture and health would only be achieved by transforming into a knowledge society.

It is worth mentioning to that the ‘Toward Digital Jordan’ Committee is chaired by Eng. Hishan Qattan, ICT Expert, while its members include Ms. Reema Diab, Founder and CEO of Galaxy Information Technology, Eng. Samir Al Shamayleh, ICT expert, Mr. Abdul-Hameed Al Rahamneh, Director General of Almonsifoon Trading & Consulting Company, and Eng. Malik Fathi Al Amayreh, Head of Electrical Engineering Division - Jordanian Engineers Association.
