ACCIONA’s Commitment to Safety With Its 2,500 Employees in the Middle East Region
ACCIONA is effectively implementing the 'work from home' policy whenever suitable.

ACCIONA is making its best efforts to continue the progress of our projects in close collaboration with our clients and in line with ACCIONA’s paramount commitment to safety under the new circumstances. We would like to update about some interesting preventive measures that we are trying to apply across all of our operations in the Middle East region:

- ACCIONA is effectively implementing the 'work from home' policy whenever suitable.

- As part of its efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, we have put together specific protocols at our offices and at the project sites in line with the recommendations and best practices worldwide. These may include providing our construction workers on-site with the corresponding personal protective equipment (PPE) in addition to the usual safety gear as well as advising and informing of the extended social distancing guidelines.

- We have increased the number of labor buses when practicable in order to significantly reduce the occupancy to safer ratios and we have implemented supplementary disinfection procedures to ensure the welfare of our workers.

- We are working in reducing the sharing of equipment and machinery by our workers.

- We are releasing awareness campaigns and displayed general information and posters related to the preventative measures against Covid-19.

- We are doubling our efforts to sanitize and maintain proper clean surfaces and areas within our work centers.

- We are implementing incentives in the form of economic coverage made available to all ACCIONA employees that undergo hospitalization due to COVID-19 between March 31st 2020 and April 1st 2021. Specifically, from the sixth day from the hospital admission the employee will receive a daily compensation of 100€/day up to a maximum of 10 payables days. In addition to this, upon discharge from the hospital, the employee will also receive a one-time recovery compensation of 3,000€. This extraordinary measure will be assumed by the President and the Vice-President of ACCIONA.
