Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Bin Butti Sign Agreement for Two Community Markets at Al Nahda Al Askaria

HE Saif Bader Al Qubaisi, General Manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, and HE Nasser Butti bin Omair Al Muhairi, CEO of Bin Butti International Holding, signed a Mustataha agreement to construct and manage two community markets at Al Nahda and Samaha cities. According to the Agreement, Bin Butti International Holding shall design, build, operate and invest both projects.

Expressing his deep delight with the agreement, the General Manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality pointed out that the two projects are part of several developments & investment projects aimed to utilize the Municipality's assets in a number of tourism, recreational, service and commercial aspects mirrored by constructing, managing or investing such projects in cooperation with the private sector.

"The projects reflect Abu Dhabi Government's vision to consolidate the integration & cooperation with the private sector, especially in terms of advancing the comprehensive development drive, renovating public facilities and introducing new projects to meet the needs of the community. The projects also aim to provide modern and integrated services in a civilised manner at world-class standards in a way that realises the Abu Dhabi Government's vision and its comprehensive development plan," noted Al Qubaisi.

"The Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities - Abu Dhabi City Municipality - is keen to foster cooperation and integration with the private sector. The civic body believes that the integration of the objectives of the two sides would induce economic empowerment, attract investments, upgrade services, and offer service facilities to the highest standards," elaborated Al Qubaisi.

"The Municipality, he added, is in the process of undertaking and launching scores of investment, entertainment and service projects in cooperation with the private sector. These projects would constitute a solid and stable ground heralding more facilities capable of bringing happiness and ensuring well-being for the whole populace."

Objectifies, Global Standards

In the same context, Jasim Al Dhahiri, Director of Investment Office, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, said, “Some of the key objectives of constructing community markets in residential areas is to raise the standard of living and provide best-in-class services to residents. It involves the provision of service facilities, proper and fine-quality retail outlets, and provide community centres that measure up to the expectations of residents. As such, they contribute to enhancing the social living and nurturing a healthy environment for practising business, shopping and entertainment.

These projects aim at investing public areas and lands for developing quality projects. Upon completion, markets will offer high-class shopping services and contribute to improving the quality of living in the area.

According to the conditions of the Agreement, Bin Butti International Holding (The Developer) has to design, build, operate and invest the two projects, i.e. the Community Market at Al Nahda Al Askaria on Land Plot (C1) over a floor area of 11,818 square meters at a cost of 47 m dirhams. The Market will be built in two years from the date of signing the agreement.

The other one is Al Samha Market; which includes the designing, building, operating and investing a community market at Al Samha. The Project is located on Land Plot (C6) at Al Samha over a floor area of 10,432 square meters at a cost of 38.5 million dirhams. The Market will be built in two years from the date of signing the agreement.

During the study of these two projects, the emphasis had been placed on including the idea of 3 in 1, i.e. providing retail outlets, community facilities and government service facilities for residential communities and strategic partners. The ultimate objective of these markets is to achieve the Municipality’s ambitions for delivering services to customers in residential communities at the Mainland and Abu Dhabi Island.
