The landscaping works undertaken by Abu Dhabi City Municipality are nearing completion on both sides of the Street from Al Mina Intersection traffic signal up to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Bridge. These works are intended to improve the overall appearance of the entrance of Abu Dhabi Island starting from Al Mina.

These works are also part of the Municipality's preparations to celebrate the 46th National Day and in conjunction with the opening of Louvre Museum in a bid to further boost the aesthetic view in the transit area towards the Louvre Museum. It makes it easier for the public to visit this huge cultural landmark by passing through a landscaped area that reflects the importance of the place.

According to the Municipality, principal works include installing cement tiles on the median from the British Club's traffic signal to Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, besides cultivating roadside hedges and maintaining the plantations on the median, at an estimated cost of 1,325,875 dirhams.

In coordination with the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), Abu Dhabi City Municipality has replaced 29 directional signs in the street leading to the Louvre Museum on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Road on Saadiyat Island.

The Municipality is moving ahead with plans to carry out the infrastructure projects as part of its vision aimed to upgrade the infrastructure in Abu Dhabi to the best international standards and sustainability requirements in a way that serves the needs of the population and provide them with comfort & happiness. The projects are also intended to enhance the quality of services on offer to the public and uphold the civilised renaissance witnessed by the capital so that it becomes a tourist attraction.

Through such infrastructure development projects and landscaping works, the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities - Abu Dhabi City Municipality seeks to enhance the quality of life, and deliver the best services to the people. It also endeavours to drive the development and interaction with mega projects such as the Louvre Museum, and showcase Abu Dhabi's identity as a unique cosmopolitan city.

The Municipality is keen to implement such projects to keep pace with the accelerated urban, developmental and economic growth seen by Abu Dhabi, which requires modern infrastructure with high technical specifications.
