ADM Marks World Heart Day, Offers Free Medical Tests and Educative Lectures

Marking the World Heart/Hypertension Day, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality has teamed with Burjeel Hospital and Al Tharawat National Private School in running a comprehensive awareness campaign at Al Wathba Park offering medical tips and free tests to all community members. The event, which signals the Municipality’s support to the adoption of sound and healthy practices, has attracted huge numbers of employees and customers.

The Municipality’s support of the World Heart/Hypertension Day’s event stems from the vision of the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities and its continuous endeavours to raise the health awareness of the community. It also underscores the commitment to the community and partner with health institutions to foster sound health values. Through the event, the Municipality seeks to educate the community through the World Heart/Hypertension Day and embed new health concepts of a modern lifestyle striking a healthy balance that reflects positively on human health.

The Burjeel Hospital and Al Tharawat National Private School provided medical services and logistics for the event including free medical tests, awareness lectures about public health and risks threatening heart health and blood circulation. Lecturers urged community members to observe a proper diet that ensures good functioning of the heart, and refrain from negative practices such as smoking and stress which have a negative impact on the health and performance of the heart. Attendees reacted with the lectures, and free medical checkups were popular amongst the community members.

The Municipality and partners held a number of exercises tailored to the health of the heart, and proper diets to mark the event, which attracted considerable participation. Al Tharawat National Private School run events engaging community members and enriching the content of the event focused on education, entertainment, tests, and other services. Visitors of the Park and the event expressed appreciation for the initiatives of the Municipality and its strategic partners and commended their role in bringing happiness to all community segments.

The Municipality will continue with these specialists community-oriented events in collaboration with its partners as they raise the health awareness and the values of social responsibility. It also focused on raising the health awareness and raising the community satisfaction with the services and facilities of the Municipality.
