ADNOC Heritage Village "Union Fort", organized by ADNOC & its Group Companies to celebrate the UAE 40th National Day continued to attract thousands of visitors who come to experience a true feel of the local heritage.

Yesterday evening, the second day of the official launch of the village’s activities attracted more than 1500 people of different nationalities who had the chance to watch the colourful celebratory programme.

The day started with a heritage quiz programme presented by renowned UAE artist Ali Al Tamimi, followed by a spectacular laser show. Local singer Khalid Hamad performed a number of folk and patriotic songs that marked the event. A number of folkloric songs and dances performed by local and expatriate troupes thrilled the audience.

The visitors had the chance to tour the stalls set up at the heritage village including the 'Bedouin' tent, where Arabian coffee and dates are offered. The visitors also toured the handcrafts and folklore arts and the marine stalls displaying handcrafts and traditional items related to different aspects of the UAE marine heritage, in addition to the local cuisine stall where they enjoyed delicious traditional dishes. Other stalls of the village depict the early life in the UAE, particularly the pearl diving and hunting in the pre-oil area.
