Airport International Group implements several charity initiatives and holds employee Iftar during Ramadan
Airport International Group (AIG), the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), has recently implemented several charity initiatives as part of its corporate social responsibility activities during Ramadan. In support of local NGO Tkiyet Um Ali, and in keeping with the spirit of the holy month, AIG employeesdistributed goodwill parcels to a number of underprivileged families residing in Al Jizah, underscoring AIG’s efforts to promote social solidarity and give back to the community.
In addition, and for the second consecutive year, AIG handed out dates and water bottles to QAIA passengers throughout Ramadan so that they may break their fast after the ‘Maghrib’call for prayer.
“These initiatives correspond with our commitment to supporting the local community all through the year, and particularly during the holy month. We also continuously strive to provide QAIA passengers with a unique travel experience and to cater to their diverse needs in a manner that reflects the warmth, hospitality and rich heritage of the Jordanian people. On this special occasion, I would like to wish everyone a blessed Ramadan and a joyous Eid Al-Fitr,” commented AIG CEO Kjeld Binger.
AIG held two employee Iftar events on 20 and 21 July, 2014, at the Sheraton Hotel, celebrating Ramadan amidst a warm, family atmosphere. AIG also presented its employees with handmade gift boxes containing artistic handcrafts inspired from Jordan’s rich culture, as well as organic and chemical-free edible treats. The contents of the gift boxes were produced by 14 ladies from Al Koura District who work at developmental projects that strive to empower women through offering employment and a source of income. This step is closely aligned with AIG’s goal to continuously support productive local communities across the Kingdom.
