Al-Futtaim Honda introduces the 2015 Honda CR-V

Al-Futtaim Honda, exclusive distributor of Honda vehicles in the UAE, has announced the introduction of the 2015 Honda CR-V.

Available across all Honda showrooms in the UAE, the 2015 CR-V is a fresh upgrade with customer friendly features.

The 4th generation 2015 CR-V boasts of a wider stance with enhanced exterior styling, offers a 4-grade line up including a 2WD option powered with a new direct-injection DOHC 4-cylinder  i-VTEC ™engine with CVT transmission, plush interiors and a whole host of new and standard features depicting it as more efficient, functional and confident SUV.

Exterior Styling

The CR-V styling has been thoughtfully enhanced and the 2015 model boasts of new exterior design which illustrates it as a smart yet tough SUV. The new front fascia blends with the new solid chrome grille lamp and the redesigned headlamps to give it a rugged and tough look.

The sleek new front headlamps incorporate powerful halogen bulbs. LED daytime running lights as standard and HID projector headlamps in EX and EX-Leather grades gives the car a bold face optimizing visibility in low light or foggy conditions. At the rear, LED combination lamps have been restyled to give CR-V a more fluid three dimensional appearance.

Front sleek Fog lights with chrome garnish on the newly designed bumper is available on the EX and EX-Leather grade enhancing exterior aesthetics. 

Newly styled 17” and 18” Alloy wheels compliment the exterior design enhancements highlighting improved dynamism of CR-V.

CR-V’s body retains aerodynamic efficiencies of the previous version, with numerous design elements such as a long roofline and an integrated rear spoiler. New to CR-V, the EX and EX-L grades include Honda’s LaneWatch™ camera that displays a wide-angle view of the passenger side roadway on the Display Audio screen. All grades are equipped with, door mirror with side turn signal.

Interior

Honda’s goal of creating a more stylish and functional interior has been realized with the reshaped chrome-effect inlay running the width of the dashboard and through the use of high quality materials on the key surfaces. To further improve the CR-V interior, a number of changes were made to increase visual appeal, convenience and control. Standard on all trims is the newly designed configurable center console that not only adds storage versatility but more comfort with its broad, sliding armrest, while also conveying a more luxurious appearance.

In addition, the 2015 CR-V offers an interior that has a spacious feel, lots of storage space and Easy Fold-Down 60/40 Split Rear Seat that provides cargo loading convenience.

On EX and EX-Leather grades, inclusion of intuitive 7-inch colour Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) adds technological supremacy. EX grades are also equipped with Smart Entry and Push Start which enables you to unlock the door, start the car, shut the car and walk away without ever having to touch the key.

Powertrain

Honda upgraded its engine for an increase in both torque and efficiency. Powering the 2015 CR-V is a new Earth Dreams Technology™ direct-injected 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine. The CR-V’s new power plant is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) delivering much improved torque of 245 N-m @ 3900rpm (i.e. 9.73% above the 2014MY) and a horsepower of 185 hp @ 6400rpm.

As a result of the new engine, transmission and number of innovations reducing frictional energy losses, the 15MY CR-V boasts of a well-balanced driving performance with class leading fuel economy.

• CR-V 2WD LX: 15.3 Km/litre.
• CR-V 4WD LX: 15.3 Km/ litre.
• CR-V 4WD EX/EX-Leather: 14.7Km/ litre.

Body and Safety

The 2015 CR-V utilizes Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure technology to enhance occupant protection and crash compatibility. The CR-V boasts of Honda’s active-safety features such as the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Traction Control System (TCS) which enhances handling stability and predictability especially in poor traction conditions in addition to Anti-Lock Brake Systems (ABS), Electronic Brake Distributor (EBD) and Hill Start Assist.

Another new feature is the Motion-Adaptive Electric Power Steering (EPS) is standard on all 2015 CR-V models. The system incorporates driving stability technology that initiates steering inputs that prompt driver to steer in correct direction during cornering and in slippery road conditions.

Also available on the 4WD EX and EX-Leather models is the Honda Lanewatch™ technology which provides a broader view of the passenger side roadway in the colour information display whenever right turn signal is engaged or the lane watch button is pressed. The display can show cars from one or two lanes.

The 2015 CR-V is equipped with parking sensors on all grades to alert the driver when an object is close. Four sensors emit audible beeps that quicken as you approach objects. In addition to that, EX and EX-Leather models are equipped with the rear view camera as a part of Honda approach to reduce pedestrian injuries.

The passive-safety features include Front Dual SRS airbag system (Dr. and Assist), front side airbag system, side curtain airbags and 3-point ELR seatbelts for 5 passengers.

Grade and Colour Availability

In addition to the standard grades i.e. 2.4L 4WD LX, EX and EX-Leather, the range also includes a new 2.4L 2WD LX grade. The 2015 CR-V will be available in eight exterior colours vs. seven in the 2014MY.
