Khalaf Al Habtoor holds talks with US Consulate General to Dubai

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, welcomed HE Rob Waller, the US Consul General in Dubai; to his office on Wednesday May 8. The meeting was aimed at strengthening ties between the two. Al Habtoor and Waller have met several times previously. Also present was Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Al Habtoor Group.  

At the meeting they discussed business opportunities between the two nations as well as the political situation in the region. Al Habtoor also pointed out the improved business conditions in the UAE. He said, “There are many American businesses in the UAE that are flourishing, and I encourage more investors from the US – and other nations - to come here.”

He added, “The UAE has proved its resilience through crisis periods. This is a great place to base a business from. The UAE is a well situated between markets in the East and West. It has many advantages.”

Waller who has served in consulates across the region and worked for National Security Staff in the White House as director for Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian Affairs, began his duty as the United States Consul General to Dubai in July 2012.
