Al Jaber & Partners sponsor Qatar Construction Summit and win at Construction Week Awards

Al Jaber & Partners sponsored the Qatar Construction Summit at Grand Hyatt Hotel this week, from 25th-27th September and actively participated in the event to showcase their substantial track record in massive infrastructure construction works in Qatar over the past decade.

Al Jaber & Partners Managing Director, Mohamad Z. Jawhar, was then presented with an award for The Health and Safety Initiative of the Year at the first Construction Week Awards ceremony in Qatar this week at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Mohamad Z. Dr Justus Harding, Al Jaber & Partners Health & Safety Manager gave a seminar on the company’s flawless safety measures to achieve zero incidents and injuries on their sites and explained the procedures behind their outstanding safety record. Al Jaber & Partners’ approach succeeds mainly because it underlines the need for occupational health, safety and environmental competencies, as these enhance the productivity, stability and integrity of their workers.

Our safety processes mean we lead by example to protect our assets and those of the client. “

The key to Al Jaber & Partners success lies in health and safety training, accredited programs to ensure quality, independent and external audits, safety management systems and constant monitoring.  Every aspect of construction work has safety

considerations. From transportation with defensive driving training, to health and emergency with on site clinics and response teams, Al Jaber & Partners have measures in place to ensure safety is paramount. Aspects such as working in the heat, personal health and hygiene, smoking rules and working with hazardous chemicals are all fully catered for on site. Equipment to minimise dust generation and reduce noise exposure are in use and vibration on tools and equipment is assessed and controlled.

Evacuation and electrical safety procedures are in place on every site along with appropriate signs and barriers. All scaffolders use full body harness and other workers have personal protective equipment. Lifting and rigging procedures are communicated to all workers, third parties and sub contractors and entry permits are required for confined space areas. Finally through the company’s dedication to promote environmental friendly construction, hazardous materials are well managed and regularly inspected by the authorities. Waste management procedures are also in place to manage the segregation and disposal of construction waste in compliance with environmental regulation.
