Al Majid Motors Celebrates Kia Triple Win at the Good Design Awards 2017

This is the eighth consecutive year in which Kia has received Good Design awards for its vehicles.

KIA Motors Corp., through its sole UAE distributor Al Majid Motors Co., is celebrating the success of its Rio, Stinger and Niro at the Good Design Awards 2017, where each of the vehicles was awarded in the ‘Transportation’ category. This is the eighth consecutive year in which KIA has received Good Design awards for its vehicles, with previous winners including the Soul EV and Cadenza premium sedan.

The new Rio compact hatchback, Stinger fastback sports sedan and Niro hybrid crossover were recognised for their exceptional performance across each judging category, including design innovation, use of new technology, form and function, materials and construction, utility, efficiency, and environmental impact. Their impressive design is the product of the expert teams working at KIA’s three global design studios in Namyang, Korea; Irvine, California; and Frankfurt, Germany.

The Good Design Awards is held annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, and is run in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. The submissions are evaluated by an independent jury made up of design professionals and media, as well as specialists from numerous industries.

Established in 1950, the Good Design Awards is among the oldest and most influential design award programmes in the world, celebrating innovative and contemporary designs of new consumer products, graphics and packaging from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. 2017 saw the jury critique products and designs from 49 countries around the world.
