Al-Markazia announces the arrival of the all new Toyota Prius to Jordan

Al-Markazia (CTA), the sole distributor of Toyota, Lexus and Hino trucks in Jordan, announced the official launch of the new Toyota Prius in the Kingdom. This all-new fourth generation model is a global pioneer, one that has been long awaited in the region. The Prius gasoline engine teams up with its electric motor to offer the best features of both, the gasoline engine is 1.8-liter VVT-i equipped Atkinson cycle petrol engine has been completely re-engineered, with remarkable results in terms of performance and fuel economy. The new engine achieves a maximum thermal efficiency of 40 percent ― the world's highest level in a mass-produced gasoline engine. The maximum output of 97 hp of the car’s gasoline engine is delivered at 5,200 rpm, with a peak torque of 14.5 kg-m at 3,600 rpm, while the electric motor delivers 71 hp of power and 16.6 kg-m of torque.

Significantly improved fuel economy and a more attractive design combine to bring you a powerful Prius model that delights the driver. The Prius is a superior hybrid, which can be driven completely on electrical power with zero fuel consumption and zero tailpipe emissions, or with a combination of the electric motor and gasoline engine depending on your driving behaviour. The hybrid batteries are charged continuously when braking and decelerating – so you don’t need to plug in a power cord and it doesn’t require any special fuel, yet drives like any other conventional car. And, of course, you can say goodbye to those frequent stops for gasoline fill-up.

As with any other Toyota model, safety remains a top priority, with the TNGA-based chassis optimised for excellent impact performance along with an impressive array of active and passive features such as seven airbags to protect the driver and passengers, active front head restraints and Head-Up Display, Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), among many others.

In terms of colour selection, take your pick from seven exciting exterior hues: Attitude Black Mica, Dark Blue Mica Metallic, Gray Metallic, Silver Metallic, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Super White II and Emotional Red. The car’s interior is available in two colours, Cool Gray and Black.
