Alfalak Electronic Equipment & Supplies Co., a leading provider of technology-based end-to-end solutions in the Middle East, is in the process of deploying Career Development (CD) and Training Development (T&D) frameworks aimed at better aligning the company’s human resources, processes, goals, strategies and performance. The structures are based on global best practices promoted by sources such as the American Society for Training and Development’s WLP Competence Model for Learning and Performance (ASTD-WPL) and the Oxford Handbook of Strategy.

Alfalak envisions career development as a self-motivating system and culture that covers well-defined career levels; job objectives, tasks and performance criteria; successful performance at each stage of training and development; and compensation and benefits. Alfalak CD structures are currently in progress in departments such as Accounting, IT, System Solution and Consulting Division, General Contracting, and Manpower Recruitment. Alfalak’s CD system aims to understand each employee function; deliver a mechanism for promotion, advancement and performance evaluation and maintain position control.

Training and development, is regarded by Alfalak as crucial to career development. Management is focusing on T&D as a means to improve individual and organizational performance by clarifying and appreciating organizational capabilities and roles and educating and empowering personnel for career advancement. Alfalak has developed a new framework based on international standards such as ASTD-WPL and the Oxford Handbook of Strategy to guide corporate T&D. General and specialized training is delivered through Alfalak’s internal training facility located at its Khobar Head Office.

Alfalak also collaborates with external trainers such as its affiliate, Al-Khaleej Training and eduction, leading training institutes and vendors to ensure that the proper tools and techniques are in place to cover any learning and skill development gaps.
