ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality, value-based education, recently invited leading members of the local, regional and global health communities to impart important health advice to its students during its 2012 Health Week.
ALHOSN’s Health Week featured a host of health-promotional activities such as free eye tests conducted by the ACUVUE Health Team of opticians and ophthalmologists from Johnson & Johnson; free skin tests to match individuals with the right skin products; free oral care assessments with free oral hygiene products given away; and blood sugar, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) tests. These were held daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The five-day event was attended by representatives from multinational health care products and pharmaceuticals maker Johnson & Johnson; health and fitness products retailer Dr. Nutrition Center, Silkor Laser Medical Center, and Lifeline Health & Fitness Center. ALHOSN’s Student Office for Marketing and Events organized the health initiative.
“ALHOSN University believes in the importance of holistic development and so we ensure that we take good care of our students’ physical, mental and emotional well-being. The experts we invited gave sound health advice which we are encouraging our pupils to pass on to their loved ones and community members. Based on the success of this event, we intend to organize more health-themed forums to our educators, students and staff to live well and maximize their productivity,” said Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO, ALHOSN University.
