AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation Launches Activities of the Second Edition of the Ithra Program

AlMabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation, in cooperation with Al Amal Special Education Institute, Durrat Al Bahrain and Hamad Town Youth Center organized a number of activities that aim to develop the participants’ skills during the second edition of the program for the fifth, sixth and seventh week. The program was held under the slogan of “Sympathy and tolerance, motivation and creativity, sports and health day.”
During the fifth week, Ithra participants and students from Al Amal Special Education Institute used role-play to learn about different professions such as painting, agriculture and carpentry. Management from the Institute and trainers provided several activities and events aimed at instilling the importance of the “sympathy and compassion” value.
The participants of the program visited Durrat Al Bahrain during the sixth week, and carried out several activities that highlighted their creativity. The program included three workshops, which were recycling furniture, agricultural recycling and planting, where trainers also carried out various activities to motivate participants to think creatively.
Coinciding with the “sports and health day” week, participants visited the Hamad Town Youth Center. Thus, several sports competitions were held including football, basketball, volleyball and yoga. A specialized team from the Bahrain Specialist Hospital conducted medical examinations for participants of the program.
The launch of the program follows the successful graduation of the first batch of participants in May 2017, in cooperation with Isa Cultural Centre, the Royal Academy of Police, Lulu Hypermarket, Gulf Aviation Academy, Al Amal Special Education Institute, Durrat Al Bahrain, the Bahrain National Museum and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain, as well as a number of civil society organizations.
