ASUS Middle East announces B1MR

ASUS Middle East today announced the portable B1MR Ultra-Bright Wireless LED Projector. With a bright 900 lumens Eco-LED light source, the B1MR is the world’s brightest sub-1kg projector. Designed for professional use, this compact and lightweight projector is easy to carry around; it also features ASUS Wi-Fi Projection technology for presentations and multimedia-streaming without the need for cables. The B1MR has a short-throw lens that projects 51-inch images when the machine is placed just 1m from the projection surface.

Compact portable Wi-Fi projector cuts the need for cables

The ASUS B1MR weighs just 900g and has a desktop footprint no larger than a DVD movie case, making it easy to carry around in a briefcase or bag. The B1MR lightens the load further by drawing power from a standard ASUS notebook AC adapter (≥65W), removing the need for a separate power supply when used in tandem with a fully-charged notebook.

The B1MR has an optional Wi-Fi adapter for a direct wireless connection to a notebook PC, or Android^™ and iOS devices. This does away with the need for a video cable, allowing users to stream presentations, documents and multimedia files wirelessly. A split screen function lets users project images from two or four input sources.

Long-lasting LED light source and short-throw lens

The ASUS B1MR features a mercury-free Eco-LED light source with a 30,000-hour lifespan to cut down on maintenance and bulb-replacement costs. With brightness rated at 900 lumens, the B1MR gives a vibrant image with 100% NTSC color gamut at a crisp 1280 x 800 (WXGA) resolution. It also features a 10000:1 contrast ratio.

The 0.9:1 short-throw lens can project images with a diagonal 51 inches across from just one meter away from the projection surface, making the B1MR ideal for presentations in small spaces where a cramped notebook screen would otherwise be the only option. The B1MR can also project on an even larger scale, projecting 153-inch images when placed just three meters from the projection surface.

The B1MR has an instant-on and instant-off feature so it’s ready for use in as little as five seconds, and can be switched off and packed away instantly. Flip-down feet with two height settings make the B1MR quicker to set up than projectors with screw-adjustable feet, while auto-keystone correction automatically adjusts the projector to ensure a true, rectangular image.

Extensive connectivity and high-quality speakers

A wide selection of video input ports means the ASUS B1MR can be used with a wide selection of projection sources, while its USB port and SD card slot also allow projections to be made directly from a USB storage device or memory card. With onboard support for such popular file formats as Microsoft Office documents and PDF, the B1MR removes the need for a notebook or handheld device altogether. Built-in 2W stereo speakers powered by ASUS SonicMaster audio technology ensure loud and clear sound without the need for external speakers.
