AUC to Host Public Transmission of the Metropolitan Opera Live

The American University in Cairo (AUC) is hosting the public transmission of the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD, featuring Giacomo Puccini's Tosca.
In Tosca, an opera in three acts, events take place in 1800 where painter Mario Cavaradossi and his lover Floria Tosca hide Cesare Angelotti, an escaped political prisoner. Events unfold as Baron Scarpia, chief of the secret police realizes that Cavaradossi has offered help to the prisoner and a struggle ensues between Tosca and Scarpia to save Cavardossi from execution.
AUC is the fourth institution in Egypt to participate in the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD program.
