Averda working with the CWM Abu Dhabi to participate in World Future Energy Summit

Averda International, the largest environmental solutions provider in the MENA region, will demonstrate its pioneering technology at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2012, in conjunction with the Center for Waste Management – Abu Dhabi (CWM). A team of key Averda representatives will demonstrate the company’s innovative approach to environmental best practices.
WFES is an international platform with a focus on highlighting the latest research, key industry issues, new technology and future environment solutions. Averda, with a view to becoming the leading integrated environmental solutions provider in all markets that it serves, is ideally positioned to share its expertise across various sectors, including revolutionary recycling solutions, creating customized environmental programs and wastewater processing.
“For the past four decades, we have been taking the problems that affect our ecosystem into solutions that benefit all aspects of our community. Through the pioneering initiatives that we have introduced to the region, particularly to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, we offer environmental solutions and create awareness about the importance of recycling and proper waste disposal,” said Malek Sukkar, CEO, Averda.“These initiatives include our Reverse Vending Machines, the innovative iaverda application, the customized wastewater solutions and REDISHRED, a secure, office-installed disposal outlet for confidential document destruction.”
Wastewater in particular is a focus for Averda, as the company strives to educate the community about the abundance of recyclable water and how to make the best use of it. This is especially pertinent to an arid region such as the Middle East.
Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs), introduced to the UAE in September 2011, represent a revolutionary and exciting new initiative allowing consumers to participate in ‘doing good’ through recycling their plastic bottles and aluminum cans.
Averda’s free application, iaverda, was also introduced in September 2011, as the region’s first-of-its-kind, technologically-advanced waste management application that allows communities to participate in ensuring a greener environment.
Averda recently expanded its operations in Abu Dhabi by opening its new 27,000 sq m Musaffah Operations Facility, which is the company’s new base from which to better serve the community of Abu Dhabi, as part of the Lot 2 contract awarded to Averda by CWM. The Musaffah Operations Facility is the house for the entirety of Averda’s Abu Dhabi fleet, and offers 24-hour operations.
As part of the five-year Lot 2 contract, Averda will help the city reach its goal of being one of the world’s top five cleanest cities as part of the Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision.
