In support of the UAE government’s recently-implemented distance e-learning systems for schools and colleges, the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation announced a new collaboration with the Education Zone Dubai to allocate AED300,000 to provide 200 computers to students of Dubai government schools.

The distance e-learning initiative was launched by the Ministry of Education (MoE) last week through the its smart learning portal in order to ensure students continue their learning journey across all lessons and programs available through computers from their homes.

His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of AMAF, commented on the initiative: “Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation is always keen to encourage education, and allocates an integrated endowment bank for education.

“It supports the distance learning initiative recently launched by the Ministry of Education. The initiative is in line with the Foundation’s keenness to empower youth through contributing to a safe and sustainable learning environment under all circumstances.”

He added: “The computers will be allocated to a number of male and female students through the education bank of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation to facilitate the smooth continuation of the educational process.”

The Education Zone Dubai has activated the distance learning initiative launched by the Ministry of Education in the country to ensure the continued education of the students, while the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation has contributed to the costs of the required equipment.

With the activation of the distance learning initiative, the importance of cooperation between institutions and Foundations is becoming clearer.
