Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) hosted an innovation retreat to inspire its employees to come up with innovative ideas to boost efficiency in the workplace, launch initiatives that promote the culture of endowment and encourage the community to participate in these initiatives.

Organized by AMAF’s Institutional Excellence & Planning Office for the second year in a row, the retreat took place under the slogan ‘Innovation Laboratories’ with the aim of advancing AMAF’s mission of supporting sustainable socio-economic development.

The event engaged attendees in a competition that sought to introduce fundamental improvements to AMAF’s services, as well as to highlight the role of the Foundation’s employees in making a difference and positively impacting the society. It also encouraged them to embrace innovation and change in their daily work.

The organizers challenged the participating teams to develop innovative initiatives across four main areas – services with a focus on smart solutions and digital transformation, customer happiness, employee satisfaction, and strategic partnerships with the charity and humanitarian work sectors[DJ1] .

Each team spent a full day brainstorming to come up with an initiative that aligns with AMAF’s key objectives and the priorities of Dubai Plan 2021. The contestants presented their proposals to a jury after the retreat [DJ2] within five working days.[CA3]

His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of AMAF, said: “The innovation retreat served as an open creative laboratory to streamline the Foundation’s services and operations, explore new horizons, and expand the number of its beneficiaries to include new segments of society, either through creating new products and services or through increasing the efficiency and impact of existing projects.”

He added: “The event aimed to motivate AMAF’s employees to suggest innovative ideas to develop endowments, empower minors and achieve annual growth in philanthropy. As such, this event was aligned with Article 9 of the Fifty-Year Charter launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in January this year to enhance people’s happiness and improve the overall quality of life.”
