Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation Presents Dh990,000 to Dubai Public Prosecution to Support Humanitarian Cases
In line with its objective of enhancing solidarity and cohesion within the UAE society, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) presented AED990,000 in zakat funds to Dubai Public Prosecution to provide financial support to social and humanitarian cases.
The financial contribution is part of AMAF’s endeavors to build strategic partnerships with government entities in charity work, and aligns with Article 9 of the Fifty-Year Charter that aims to achieve annual growth in philanthropic initiatives in parallel with economic growth.
A delegation from AMAF, headed by His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Foundation, visited Dubai Public Prosecution to discuss the charitable contribution. Other AMAF representatives included Omar Jumaa Al Mazmi, Director of the Endowment Development Department, Mohamed Al Kamzari, Head of Public Relations and Communications, and Fahad Al-Bannai, Director of the Endowment Disbursement Department.
His Excellency Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai, welcomed the delegation. His Excellency Counselor Yousif Hassan Al Mutawa, Assistant Attorney General, Counselor Khalifa Rashid Bin Demas, First Attorney General and Head of the Technical Bureau of the Attorney General, Counselor Abdullah Kulib, First Attorney General and Head of Civil Prosecution, and Counselor Mohammed Ali Bouabdallah, First Attorney General and Head of Family and Juvenile Prosecution, also represented Dubai Public Prosecution at the meeting.
His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa said: “Our cooperation with leading entities from the public and private sectors to achieve a cohesive society, as targeted by the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021, is in keeping with our strategy to optimize efforts and results.”
He added: “In line with Article 9 of the Fifty-Year Charter, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, our initiatives contribute to increasing philanthropic work. Furthermore, they help enhance the happiness and quality of life of the UAE population.”

The birth of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) came with the issue of law No. 6 in 2004 during the era of the late His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum. With the expansion of the institution in its work and functions, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler Dubai issued law No. 9 in 2007 organizing the work of the institution, to ensure the provision of a conducive environment for greater achievements in the development of ‘awqaf’ and minors’ funds, and the care of their affairs, according to a well-aimed plan, and a conscious vision and insight.
