Bahrain International Airport welcomes first flight of Al Masria Universal Airline into the Kingdom of Bahrain
Bahrain International Airport (BIA) recently welcomed the first scheduled flight of Al Masria Universal Airlines into the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Cairo based carrier has officially commenced operations as of this month, providing BIA with an exciting new route to add to its portfolio. The arrival of Al Masria Universal Airlines was welcomed by key Bahrain Airport Company officials, BIA officials, representatives from Al Masria Universal Airlines and Sanad travel & Tourism senior management at a ceremony held at the airport premises.
Al Masria Universal Airlines will operate three weekly flights to Bahrain International Airport on Saturdays, Mondays and Thursdays.
Mr. Mohammed Khalil, Chief Commercial Officer at Bahrain Airport Company, commented on the Al Masria Universal Airlines first landing in Bahrain and the benefits of this new route: “We are happy to welcome Al Masria Universal Airlines first flight into Bahrain International Airport; we are confident that it will help spur tourism and bolster business activities between the two countries. The new route reiterates BAC’s commitment to further expand BIA’s network and provide passengers with connectivity options and ease of access to the rest of the world. This will contribute in increasing the opportunities for cooperation and investment between the two countries, eases movement and increase tourism promotion between them, which will most benefit the economic side of the two countries”.
Mr. Mohammed Khalil also expressed his sincere thanks to Sanad Travel and Toursim and extended his appreciation to all airport stakeholders for their continuous support.
Al Masria Universal Airlines will be co-operating with Sanad Travel & Tourism Co., a leading travel agency in Bahrain, to be responsible for the agency activities in the Kingdom including reservation, ticketing, customer service and administrative services.
BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. In its operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders.
