Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority Announces the Launch of the Fourth Edition of the Sea Festival at Marassi Beach
In collaboration with Eagle Hills Diyar, the developers of the iconic urban project Marassi Al Bahrain, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has recently announced the launch of the fourth edition of the Sea Festival, which will be held at Marassi Beach over the period of 10 days, starting from Thursday November 7th until Saturday November 16th.
This year’s edition of the Sea Festival will include a live on-stage performance (Del Mare), as well as a number of attractions suitable for visitors of all ages such as water sports activities, boat rides, traditional music performances, handicrafts and pearl merchants. There will also be plenty of entertainment during the Festival including a museum, outdoor cinema and an interactive play area for kids.

These annual events all aim to further develop the national economy and elevate the Kingdom’s position as a tourist attraction to support the Economic Vision 2030," commented Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, Mr. Nader Khalil Al Moayyed.
As part of this collaboration, Dr. Maher Al Shaer, Managing Director of Eagle Hills Diyar, said, "We are honored to host the fourth edition of the Sea Festival at Marassi Beach, an event that attracts visitors from Bahrain and neighboring countries and is an excellent education initiative of the Kingdom’s rich sea history. We also look forward to increasing cooperation between Eagle Hills Diyar and BTEA in order to further enrich the tourism industry and support all government entities in strengthening the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position on the international tourism map."
Since the launch of Sea Festival, this annual event aims to celebrate the close ties throughout the ages between the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sea, by showcasing several sea related traditions and activities. In addition, the Festival aims to be a platform to generate awareness and educate visitors and tourists about the Kingdom’s rich history with the sea.
BTEA continuously aims its efforts at showcasing the Kingdom of Bahrain as the ideal tourism destination for families which offers a unique experience to visitors of all ages. The Sea Festival comes in line with the BTEA’s overall strategy aimed at developing and strengthening the tourism sector under the slogan ‘Ours. Yours’, which contributes towards the Kingdom’s economy and 2030 Economic Vision.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority was established in 2015 under the Royal Decree number (76) for the year 2015 issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain. Whereas the first clause of the Decree number (10) stated that an authority should be established under the supervision of the Council of Ministers
In 2015, BTEA started its operations under the Decree number (9) for the year 2015 to append the Tourism Affairs to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce based on the recommendation of HRH Prime Minister and under the law number (62) of the year 2016 to establish and regulate the Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA) and the Decree number (1) for the year 1985 to establish a Supreme Council for Tourism, and the law number (15) for the year 1986 to regulate the Tourism sector amended by a Law by Decree number (12) for the year 1994.
