Bank Nizwa’s branch-on-wheels concludes Dhofar tour

Bringing Islamic financial solutions to more communities across the Sultanate, Bank Nizwa’s branch-on-wheels recently concluded its two month nationwide tour in the Governorate of Dhofar, to raise awareness on the concepts and benefits of Islamic finance. Customers were able to consult the bank’s team of experts, open new accounts, utilize its built-in ATM, and avail of a host of Shari’a-compliant products and services available on hand.

Our mobile branch takes us one step closer to our goal as it has allowed us to connect with communities across Oman, delivering solutions that are convenient, accessible and tailored to their needs.”
To date, the branch-on-wheels has visited tens of cities across the country. It is tour in the Governorate of Dhofar included the cities of Salalah, Mirbat and Taqa in the Sultanate’s southernmost Governorate before returning to Muscat.
In addition to having its branch-on-wheels in Dhofar, Bank Nizwa also launched phase three of its nation-wide roadshow, the ‘Islamic Finance Knowledge Series’. The bank conducted a sessions in Salalah, which saw participation of public sector employees. Facilitators of the sessions included Sheikh Ibrahim Al Sawafi, Secretary of Fatwa at the office of His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate and Mustafa Al Naabi, Senior Auditor at Bank Nizwa’s Shari’a Supervisory Board.

The formation of Bank Nizwa came about with the Central Bank of Oman granting its initial approval to the licensing of the Bank to Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al Khalili. Sheikh Saud and a further 92 other Omani individuals, companies and pension funds constitute the founder shareholders of the Bank.
Bank Nizwa is Oman’s first dedicated Islamic bank, with fully Shari’a compliant products and services.
