As part of its continuous commitment towards the community and in the spirit of giving back during the Holy of month of Ramadan, the Barclays team in the UAE hosted an Iftar banquet for more than 90 orphans from Beit Al Khair Society to celebrate the month with them in a family atmosphere filled with joy and happiness.

The Barclays volunteers invited the children to join them for a Mediterranean Iftar in Mall of the Emirates. Following the banquet, the children were accompanied to Ski Dubai, where they were able to cool off from the summer heat in the snow park and enjoy their time.

Dania Haffarbazzy, Head of Barclays’ Marketing, Communications and Citizenship in the Middle East, said: “Barclays is committed to giving back to the community and continuously encourages its employees to volunteer their time and efforts to help others. Helping those less fortunate is a fundamental pillar of the Ramadan Spirit.”

Moza Al Shamsi, Head of Public Relations & Events, Beit Al Khair Society, explained, “We appreciate the help of Barclays employees in taking the time to host this event for our children, who really enjoyed this experience especially the activities following the Iftar. With such support from our community, our organization is able to continue to grow and extend a helping hand to those in need.”

Barclays employees volunteer their time in various other activities throughout the year, including most recently, taking part in the 20/20/20 Art Community Project in collaboration with ZeeArts Community to support children from the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.
