Biolab holds health awareness session on disease prediction

Dr. Amid Abdelnour, Founder and CEO of Biolab - the exclusive Biomnis dealer in the Kingdom- was recently hosted by the Rotary Club of Amman to hold a health awareness session.

During the session, Dr. Abdelnour spoke about the different types of diseases whereby he pointed out that diseases are either infectious or non-infectious. He further explained that the latter cannot be transmitted through other people, but instead is spread by other risk factors including; genetics, life-style trends, and environmental conditions. 

Non-infectious diseases highlighted during this session included; Heart diseases, Mental diseases, Infertility, Thrombosis, Abortion, Cancer, and Alzheimer’s amongst others, whereby they were used as case studies for diseases prediction. 

On this occasion, Dr. Abdelnour pointed out that genetic testing is now used to predict the occurrence of these non- infectious diseases, and that this new wave of personalized medicine is the way forward to save individuals time otherwise spent suffering. 

On another note, Dr. Abdelnour explained that Biolab’s contribution to the Rotary Club’s agenda is one that stems from its ongoing aims to be part of all efforts serving to advance levels of public health awareness. He further added that by explaining to individuals the different actions they could take to improve their personal health standards, Biolab is doing its part to improve health standards in Jordan.
