As part of its participation in the19thInternational Jordanian Conference of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Biolab – the Kingdom’s leading diagnostic laboratory that is accredited by four international bodies –highlighted Janini test, the latest and most advanced genetic testing that pregnant women can undertake starting from week 10 of pregnancy. The special thing about this test is that it causes no miscarriage risk on the mother nor baby. Janini is a Non-Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT) that screens for the three most common ‘trisomy’ conditions present at birth; Down Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome and Patau Syndrome, caused by extra or missing genetic information in the baby’s DNA, in addition to the baby’s gender.

Medical representatives and professors including obstetricians and gynecologists from Jordan and other Arab and foreign countries have participated in this conference. Various topics and discussions that are related to obstetrics and gynecology were presented during this conference, ranging from infertility, laparoscopic surgery and Gynae-Oncology.

Marking this occasion, Biolab’s CEO and founder, Dr. Amid Abdelnour, emphasized that Biolab offers the advanced Janini test with fast results and an accuracy rate of 99.9%. He added that Biolab constantly seeks to share and disseminate the latest developments and scientific knowledge in order to improve the level of services provided to its clients. Dr. Abdelnour explained that this test is suitable for all pregnant mothers at 10 weeks of gestation through a small maternal blood draw, with no miscarriage risk to the mother nor the baby.

As a regional pioneer in the field of medical diagnostics and laboratory testing, Biolab provides an extensive portfolio of more than 700 diagnostic services, catering to individuals, physicians, hospitals, and other laboratories across Jordan and the Middle East.
