Burgan Bank Concludes its 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign under the Theme ‘Driven by You’
Upholding its commitment to participating in the annual global movement for raising awareness about breast cancer throughout October, Burgan Bank concluded its month-long Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, under the theme ‘Driven by You’. The multi-faceted campaign included several events designed to engage, inform, and empower employees as well as the Bank’s community, expanding on its comprehensive social responsibility program and cementing its committed adherence to international environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
“As our most valued resource and pillar of our sustainable growth, our employees’ and their families’ health remains at the top of our priorities, and fostering a work environment that supports and encourages their overall wellbeing continues to be a primary driver of our institutional decision-making,” commented Ms. Zahra Boarki, Senior Manager – Internal Communication at Burgan Bank. “Given the gravity of breast cancer and the heavy emotional and physical burden it puts on patients and their families, it is of the highest importance that we resume our annual contribution to the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month efforts by educating our staff and spreading awareness across our community. This year, we were proud to witness high engagement among our employees and wider community with the various aspects of the initiative, which gives us hope that we can beat breast cancer together as educated and aware women who continue to stand together and raise one another up.”
For the campaign launch, Burgan Bank illuminated its Head Office building in pink, in an expression of solidarity with and support for all breast cancer fighters and survivors. The Bank also organized a workshop for its female employees hosted by Dr. Noha Al-Saleh, Consultant – General Surgery and Surgical Oncology; Dr. Anny Qaisser, Consultant – Family Medicine; and Mrs. Laila Jamal, Breast Cancer Survivor from Royale Hayat Hospital who delivered engaging presentations and discussions around healthy habits for reducing the risk of breast cancer as well as early detection, self-screening, and treatment protocols. To guarantee that awareness translated to action, Burgan Bank, in collaboration with IMAGS, encouraged employees to get free screening at the mobile screening clinic conveniently stationed on-site.
Besides the open discussions and presentations, Burgan Bank and Royale Hayat Hospital launched the “Tree of Hope” initiaitvie at the bank’s headquarters, where all female staff were encouraged to share messages of hope in support of all fighters and survivors.
In line with its culture of inclusivity and equity, the Bank ensured that all staff, including female workers and cleaning staff, were invited and welcomed to attend all presentations and discussions, as well as benefit from the free screening and consultations, confirming their integral role as part of the Burgan Bank Family.
In addition, Burgan Bank offered free annual mammogram screening in collaboration with IMAGS for all female employees as well as the employee’s wives through its insurance coverage, and 50% discount on screening for first and second-degree female relatives of staff members.
To expand the camapgin’s reach, Burgan Bank also hosted a dedicated podcast series in partnership with Kuwait Hospital, featuring Dr. Zahra Ismail, general surgery consultant; Dr. Shatha Al-Najdi, radiologist specializing in breast tumor detection; Clinical Dietitian and Exercise Specialist, Ms. Dalal Al-Nukhailan; and Mrs. Bibi Al-Bannai, breast cancer survivor and Manager – Branch Sales at Burgan Bank. The podcast interviews, moderated by Ms. Zahra Boarki, covered numerous vital topics that address everything from leading a healthy lifestyle to overcoming fear of screening, battling cancer, and supporting women on their journeys to surviving the malicious disease.
The educational content and wellness tips were also shared across the Bank’s internal and external social media platforms throughout October, alongside motivational activities designed to encourage early detection and healthier lifestyles. , The Bank distributed badges and giveaways that served as reminders for prioritizing health and wellness.
As part of its commitment to prioritizing employees’ health and wellbeing, and in line with its extensive CSR and ESG agenda, Burgan Bank remains committed contributor to raising awareness in Kuwait about social causes such as diseases like prostate cancer and diabetes while also promoting the importance of mental health.
