Canon breaks into film production with the Cinema EOS system at Cabsat 2012
Canon Middle East heralds a new chapter in its long history of innovative product offerings with the unveiling of the Cinema EOS System, its full-fledged motion picture camera that ushers its entry into the film production industry.
The Cinema EOS System will be introduced to the Middle East market for the first time at CABSAT 2012, the region's largest digital media and satellite exposition being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 28 February to 1 March 2012.
The Cinema EOS System is touted to mark the beginning of a whole new system for the motion picture industry. "The launch of the Cinema EOS System in the Middle East has been highly anticipated by the region's media production professionals and enthusiasts, since the new motion picture camera was announced at Hollywood in November last year. It has got great image processing and lenses – re-imagined to tailor the experience to suit the demands of a cinematographer. It's a game changer for the entire Middle Eastern film production industry, another exciting innovation from Canon," said Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East
The first model to debut under this system is the EOS C300 camera, with a super 35mm CMOS sensor and Interchangeable lens system. CABSAT visitors will have the first opportunity to touch, try and evaluate the C300 and the creative opportunity it offers for both film professionals and enthusiasts.
"Another impressive feature which has wowed cinematographers is the EOS C300's ergonomic design which takes into account various shooting scenarios, and can accommodate situations where every last inch of manoeuvrability counts," Verbrugghe added.
With day-long shooting comfort and usability in mind, different components can be added or removed as needed. It's also compatible with industry standard, third-party accessories so it can be easily rigged for studio, Steadicam, or just about any other configuration imaginable.
At CABSAT, Canon Middle East will showcase its capabilities in the broadcast industry, with the range of range of products, such as the XA10, 5D MKII, XF Series, C300 and range of Lenses. In addition, this would also be a first opportunity for film and digital media consumers to touch and try the EOS 1DX DSLR.
