Canon Middle East supports Dubai Cares’ Ramadan activation at The Dubai Mall

Canon Middle East, the leader in imaging solutions, today announced that it is extending support to Dubai Cares, further demonstrating Canon’s commitment to doing business responsibly in all countries in which it operates by enabling greater innovative solutions and promoting economic growth. Under the partnership, Canon Middle East will be supporting Dubai Cares by setting up a photography booth in The Dubai Mall, raising awareness of the importance of child education during the Holy Month of Ramadan. 

Dubai Cares is a philanthropic organization working to provide children in developing countries with access to quality primary education in order to break the cycle of poverty, a philanthropic mandate consistent with Canon’s corporate philosophy of Kyosei, a Japanese term meaning ‘living and working together for the common good.’ The Kyosei philosophy helps shape Canon’s vision and values, and the way in which it does business and interacts with its stakeholders. 

The Dubai Mall visitors will be able to have their photographs clicked, printed and inserted in a special Canon-Dubai Cares branded photo frame for free at the Canon photography booth. Photographs taken at this booth will then be uploaded to Canon Middle East’s Facebook page where participants will have the opportunity to identify and tag themselves. The rationale behind this activity is to further raise awareness of the important work that Dubai Cares conducts in developing countries. 

The partnership further reinforces Canon Middle East’s strong commitment to support the communities within which it operates. Canon is involved in several CSR initiatives in the region that are aimed at fostering community and humanitarian partnerships. Canon has an ongoing relationship with the Dubai Autism Centre whereby Canon provides cameras that are used for therapy and entertainment purposes and which help to inspire the creativity of the Center’s students. The company supports the Emirates Environmental group in their initiatives as corporate members. 

Dubai Cares’ mission to increase children’s access to quality primary education is realized through integrated programs that eliminate the underlying obstacles that prevent children from going to school and learning. This is achieved through school feeding, deworming activities, early childhood education, curriculum development, literacy and numeracy through teacher training, school infrastructure as well as Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in schools.
